A renewed spirit for a new year

Hello lovelies!

It’s been a busy holiday season indeed and a wonderful new year! I’ve been on a personal retreat of wellness and inspiration, something I do each year as it comes to close and we head into a year of new journeys. This is my time to reflect, gain clarity and pamper myself after a year of heavy travel, charitable contributions and overall adventure.

I’m revived to say the least and excited about the new year. Fresh, revived and a few new additions to my wardrobe, I’ll be heading to NY for a special interview and sneak peak of what’s on my calendar for the year!

I love the inspirations and new journey that comes with renewing, reflecting and recharging. You, too?

Happy Holidays my Savvy adventures!

I know many of you are looking forward to, and already enjoying the spirit and magic of the season. Giving, sharing, your cookie exchanges and the mystery of what that special someone may be getting for you! I too love this time of year, everything it stands for and most of all it is a time I encourage those near and dear to think outside of the family and friends circle and think about those who truly need. As you know, I love giving of my time and resources. My fame may be what many care about and why they adore me but my legacy is touching the lives of others. My mother always taught me that a cheerful spirit and a happy heart is nourished and grows by how we impact others…the ways we reach out to those in need to nourish their spirits and protect their fragile dignity when they need a little boost. Mother was so right.

Nothing makes the season more magical for me me than bringing an awe-filed smiled and lifted spirit to someone else’s heart. You, too?

Admire others for the path they pave, not the title they wear

Good morning all my savvy life adventurers! I’ve been off again this time to help friends with a new non-profit project they are kicking off. It was great to visit with them and of course I loved that our time was about more than just friends catching up. The project is a big undertaking so David really called in the troops, utilizing his celebrity status to get work done. This time I somehow felt as though I stepped out of my own body to look down on everyone as we met and worked, not everyone had a face we knew. As one young girl approached for an autograph, I was reminded of just how much a known face or name means to others. Did she want it to brag or out of true admiration, and should it matter?

To the young girl who asked for my autograph – follow your dreams. Don’t worship or idolize a famous face or be impressed with important titles. Rather, admire the faces and names for their perseverance and the courage that was exercised to win your admiration or pave the way for you to follow in a similar path.

I love knowing I have a positive impact on others dreams. You, too?

Take the day off and dive into your new book

Good morning life adventurers!

It has been a busy fall for me full of travel, work and supporting my favorite charitable organizations. I am fortunate to be so busy and more blessed to give. This morning as I sip my tea and catch up on fan mail, the echos of advice I once gave dance in my head. That advice is, “No matter what the day holds it never trumphs your personal need to rest and recharge your own body and soul so you can be the best you, when you dive in.” Admittedly, having spent so much time on the road, today I must listen to my own need to rest and recharge. So, the busy day on my schedule is about to be cleared so I may find myself immersed in the wonderful book my friend Charlotte gave me months ago.

Today my time belongs to me so I don’t forget who I am tomorrow. You, too?

Take a few minutes this week and toss a some leaves

Good morning my savvy adventurers. I’ve been out traveling again with little access to the internet. I admit I do miss it in the beginning but as access is denied I am reminded how much life is lived in ways that have nothing to do with technology. It’s those moments I most embrace, and live for. My travels this time have taken me on location within the U.S., allowing me to enjoy the many colors and sensations Fall has to offer here. While the sweet Fall air can be intoxicating, I must admit that even I love to rake a pile of leaves, only to scoop them up and toss them into the wind. It reminds me of the innocent and wondrous joys of childhood – a time and place when life is simple. So this week don’t just watch the season change, embrace it by taking a few moments from your own busy day to send a few leaves a floating in the fall breeze.

I love the joy and innocent moments mother nature provides. You, too?

To grow and mature requires action

Hello life explorers! My life has been greatly enriched by the many experiences I’ve had, yes, but it’s the moments in which I’ve been fortunate enough to give that have been key in my personal growth and maturity. Growing up mother always said, “If you don’t learn to give, you won’t grow, and without growth Lila, you simply cannot mature into the woman you are meant to be.” Mother was right, and always so wise. So today on your own adventure, find an opportunity to give, not matter how small that giving is. As I’ve learned on my travels, it’s most often the smallest of gestures that mean the most to others.

I love opportunities that allow me to impact others. You, too?

A breath of fresh air will keep your day in perspective

Whether the sun is beaming its lovely morning rays your way, or a mist coats the skies, there is a unique beauty each brings, influencing the moods and even movement the day will bring. Take it for what it is, another beautiful day to enjoy! If today leaves you feeling a bit overwhelmed simply step outside and breath in those rays, or the mist and remember there are no big deals, and nothing is more important than your health and your sanity. If you didn’t get it right today, tomorrow will give you another opportunity to try again!

Sometimes a simple yet refreshing breath of fresh air is all I need. You, too?

Valuing yourself helps you find value in others

Good morning my sweet life adventurers, how I’ve missed you. Sometimes it’s hard to be away from all the comforts of our everyday life. I’ve been home for a week now catching up after being out of the country for the last few weeks. I was called away for a shoot but also used it as another opportunity to connect with locals and lend a hand with one of their building projects in their small village. I must say, this was the most fun I’d had in some time. Yes, a village, and compared to the world in which we live in, very uncivilized. But when you strip away what we have or don’t have in the material world, and see people as humans first, you realize it’s our hearts, our emotions and our laughter that connect us and make us all relate, especially in a world that is foreign, such as was for me while on location. In the end it was hard to leave the sweet people of the village, people I also now call my friends as we shared much laughter despite our language barrier. I’m grateful my mother instilled in me as a young girl to value myself above all things. She always said, “Honey, despite what the world will tell you as you grow up, you will not get along with, or find value in anyone different from you if you don’t first find true value in yourself.” Mother was so right and thanks to her, I see the amazing value in all people, everywhere.

I love that it’s our core being that truly connects us to one another. You, too?

First of all, we want to let you know that Lila is suppose to be back in town (her home), on Friday so we’re really looking forward to hearing from her!

Now, on to business. We are thrilled to report that we don’t fit this current Mintel Report Show Gaps in Customer Satisfaction With Body Care, and here’s why.

It’s no secret that almost every company spends a fortune on marketing to sell their products, and that beautifully and perfectly scripted marketing will sell a product whether it works or not. It’s also no secret that one of the top consumer complaints about so called natural and organic products is that they don’t deliver. And according to the above mentioned Mintel report, most consumers say they are not happy with current products despite all the glamorous claims the companies make about what they do.

Being a Manicurist before the Creator of NONTOXIQUE, I know first hand about hand and foot care products – how they feel, how they work, how they don’t work, and what they really need to perform the tasks at hand, no pun intended. So, it’s no surprise to us that 84% of adults use hand lotions or cremes and 63% use foot cremes, and judging by the majority of options available it’s also no surprise that 79% of consumers wished their hand lotions lasted longer, and nearly half still claimed they had dry skin, even right after application! Hello My Savvy Explorers. I’ve noticed that everywhere I travel people have bugs that appear out of sync for this time of year, meaning they are unusually sick. After being asked by my good friend Charlotte about this crazy trend, and how she can really protect herself going into the fall and winter months, I learned that as savvy as she is, she too had been falling victim to the many marketing tactics companies use in selling hand cleansers. They especially include ‘Organic’ and ‘Natural’ Hand Cleansers with claims to have ‘patented’ ingredient systems proven to kill 99.99% of germs.

The reality is this, germs adhere to the skin by static electricity, and it’s the action of creating friction by lathering your hands while you wash that cause germs to separate from the skin! Yes, it’s true. And, as long as a plant has not been compromised during the creation of your wonderful product, its natural antibacterial system is very much in tact and beneficial to you. So I recommended that Charlotte stock up on my favorite hand cleanser by NONTOXIQUE.
